The Controversy Over War Hero Statues!

What is it all about?

There! Standing Like A Stonewall: A Famous cry from the battlefield!

It seems to be an ongoing battle whether these statues honor war heroes or something more sinister. Stonewall Jackson, Robert Edward Lee, and Nathan Bedford Forrest are some of the well known Generals and figures that come to mind. They’re education is equivalent to education received today in the very same military academies to prepare the country for defense of this great nation. Their leadership on the battlefields earned them respect from the troops, both the ones they led AND the one’s they fought.

In modern times, collective thought has seemed to decide these leaders of the Confederate armies were racist biggots with no particular skills or reason to stand promenately in the public squares all over America. Bedford, as he was called, was buried for over 140 years at the base of this statue. For generations, people would stand and stare in awe at one of the most successful generals of the Civil War on either side of the conflict. They ultimately came to pay their respects.
