Our Mission and Values
Founded in 1896, the Sons of Confederate Veterans arose from the need to uphold the legacies of aging Confederate veterans. As they faced the twilight of their lives, the organization was established to ensure the true stories of their struggles and sacrifices continued to be shared. Our commitment is to honor their memory and provide educational resources for future generations.
We proudly serve descendants of Confederate soldiers, offering a platform for them to connect with their heritage. Our members include sons and grandsons who seek to honor their ancestors’ legacies. We also engage with the broader community interested in exploring our Southern history.

Our Historical Journey
The SCV was established to fill the gap left by the aging United Confederate Veterans, ensuring that the memories and battles fought were never forgotten. Its inception marked the beginning of a dedicated mission to educate and preserve history. Over the years, we have grown into a significant organization with a passionate commitment to our cause.
Our team comprises dedicated volunteers, historians, and genealogists committed to the mission of the SCV. Each member brings unique skills and experiences crucial in helping us achieve our goals. Together, we work collaboratively to honor the memory of our Confederate ancestors.
The SCV has multiple branches throughout the country, united in their goal of preserving Confederate history. Each branch operates independently yet remains connected through shared principles and objectives. This network allows for a diverse and rich exchange of knowledge and resources.
The SCV has received several accolades over the years for its educational initiatives and community engagement. These awards reflect our commitment to preserving history and fostering a deeper understanding of our heritage. We take pride in the recognition we have gained through our dedication to historical accuracy and outreach.
